Went to Gentings for 3d2n with 15 relatives..and you realize that the last time you went there was with this bunch of people as well many years ago. Oh how much people change..all my cousins have grown up ahhaha. A personal milestone: I actually manage to enter the casino four times without getting checked!! Also won 40 rm at the big-small table. LOL. Met up with weiyi on the first night who also happened to be there with his family..koped his brother's wrist tag and went on the indoor rides, alternating between the rollar coaster and the bumper cars until 1am. XD It was shiok although practically everyone around us were young kids. Watched two movies with the cousins, "Switch" and "After hours" and slept practically throughout the first one. Also visited the temple and farms with the adults..because I was too bored of staying indoors at the theme parks. >< Went back home only to be greeted with 150 psi haze which was pretty much unbearable. It was slightly worse than beijing then. and in the next two days, the psi more than doubled..to 371. What went through my mind immediately was..I want to be in TAIWAN. and then back to korea..and then even beijing is better.. the first day back to work and I was sick. boss told me to go see doctor but i stayed because i really wanted to go to DID (dialogue in the dark) for research with the colleagues. It was worth it, I felt much better there..in the darkness. It was inspiring. Kelvin Tan was our blind guide and I could really feel his enthusiasm and optimism in his voice. Really inspiring, how he is born blind and able to lead such a normal life..running marathons and all. the tour was really interesting; it teaches you how to use the stick, how to find seats, how to cross the road etc. personally i think i'm pretty comfortable with darkness (tend to go quite fast and end up in front of the group oops.) because of past projects, theatre games and well..i like the dark. but for most people there's some sort of fear. i think more people should go to this DID and experience it for themselves. it teaches you to be more sensitive to your other senses and to be more sensitive to the blind people we may meet on the streets. after that we spoke to the people in charge of DID..they told us that it's called dialogue in the dark cos there are 3 kinds of dialogue..firstly with yourself, then with others (in the grp) and also with the guide. it's rare that people will really stop and talk to a blind person you see on the streets..and they also shared with us this story about how someone came for the tour and found the voice of his guide familiar..turned out that they met in real life before..they both lived in yishun and he actually helped the blind person to cross the road before..now it's a role reversal..the blind guiding him here..I find it super touching!! and I finally saw the doctor that night. doctor suspected dengue..I really hope it's not. mc for two days and supposed to get back to work tomorrow. hope the haze gets better..
